About Wavefront Technology

Wavefront technology, an option available with PRK, LASEK and LASIK at the Midland Eye Institute, allows a refractive surgeon to generate an extremely accurate map of a patient's eye. This specially generated map helps identify the unique aberrations (imperfections) that affect an individual patient's vision. The information from this Wavefront map is electronically transferred to a computer that precisely controls the laser during surgery.

We use the latest in Wavefront technology at the Midland Eye Institute: the Nidek EC 5000 CXIII excimer laser using the OPD scanner and Final Fit Software to create the perfect profile.
