Mr Ressiniotis is currently appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, leading the glaucoma service at Good Hope Hospital. He provides a top quality comprehensive glaucoma and cataract service, including laser and surgical management of complex glaucoma cases.
He has vast experience in the latest Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery techniques, which he uses to manage glaucoma safely and effectively.
He is also particularly interested in the latest advances in modern small incision cataract surgery, with state of the art intraocular lens implants.
After his specialist training in Newcastle upon Tyne, he completed a two year Fellowship in Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where he obtained advanced clinical and surgical skills in the field of glaucoma and complex cataract cases.
During his training he developed a particular interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery through clinical experience, research and teaching. He was awarded the Higher Degree of Doctor of Medicine from Newcastle University in 2007 for his research in the field of Glaucoma Genetics.
Mr Ressiniotis is passionate about teaching and is currently the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Tutor for the trainees in Solihull, Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals.
